Design Miami is a global forum for 20^th and 21^st century collectible design. Gallerists, designers, curators and critics the world over, come together to celebrate museum-quality furniture, lighting and objects of art. Running alongside Art Basel, this year’s show had an injection of contemporary as well as historic mid-century pieces. Below are a few pieces that caught my eye…

The Salone Internazionale del Mobile, the world’s biggest and boldest trade fair of its kind, landed in Milan to celebrate its 51^st anniversary between 17^th-22^nd April 2012. Showing no signs of old age, and with just over 2,500 companies along with 700 new designers, the Saloni showcased the latest in furniture and design. The design districts of Milan and Fiera Rho dressed to impress their 300,000 visitors from all over the world. Paola Navone’s collaborations with Baxter and Barovier&Toso were personal favourites as well as Donghia’s presentation of its new collection.

The London Design Week is an international event that delivers the latest trends in interior decoration and design. Showcasing the latest collections of over 500 luxury brands it is a great opportunity to meet up with suppliers, view their new pieces and get inspired by world-class talent in design. This year’s London Design Week found me at the Design Centre in Chelsea harbour sourcing ideas for current projects and looking for style directions and inspiration for future ones.
